According to Yondr Group's news release, the leading global developer of hyperscale data centers has successfully energized its first campus in Malaysia. This significant milestone marks a key step towards delivering critical IT capacity to the region.

Located in Johor's Sedenak Tech Park, the campus boasts a future capacity of 300MW upon full completion. The development will occur in phases and provide access to essential features like dark fiber connectivity, scalable utilities, and robust infrastructure.

The energization coincides with a strategic partnership formed in August 2023 between Yondr and Tenaga Nasional Berhad, a prominent Malaysian electricity company. This partnership secures an Electricity Supply Agreement, enabling the delivery of over 300MW of IT load at the Johor campus through a high voltage substation. This energy capacity positions Yondr's facility as the largest hyperscale data center campus in Southeast Asia.

Yondr's presence in Johor contributes positively to Malaysia's digital infrastructure development. The Sedenak Tech Park, a flagship data center complex, offers a strategic location within the larger Sedenak Technology Valley. This positioning provides Yondr with proximity to various technology-driven industries, research and development facilities, and key data center hubs like Singapore. This ensures long-term scalability for Yondr's clients in terms of power and land requirements.

Yondr's expansion into Malaysia aligns with their strategic plan for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, a hub for major data and cloud players in Southeast Asia. The company's swift progress is further emphasized by the two-year timeframe since entering the Malaysian market in March 2022. This achievement underscores Yondr's expertise in developing and delivering hyperscale data centers.

Yondr's expansion into Malaysia complements their existing presence in major global data center hubs. The company boasts ongoing projects in Northern Virginia (USA), multiple European FLAP locations, and a recent partnership with Marubeni to establish a foothold in Japan.
