UTAS-NOVA Automotive Lighting Systems to Build New Plant in Mexico
UTAS-NOVA Automotive Lighting Systems México, a Chinese automotive lighting company, is making an investment of over US$36.3 million to establish a new plant in Aguascalientes. This venture will not only mark UTAS-NOVA's entry into Mexico but also create 220 new jobs, contributing to the local economy.
Construction of the new plant is set to begin in September 2024 at the Vesta Industrial Park, south of the state capital. The new facility will be UTAS-NOVA's first venture into Mexico and boast cutting-edge technology, adhering to Industry 4.0 standards.
“The new facilities in Aguascalientes will be state-of-the-art,” said Rick Knill, Director of Operations for UTAS-NOVA Automotive Lighting Systems Mexico in North America. “We will be creating and maintaining a digital factory.”
The new plant in Aguascalientes will specialize in the manufacturing and distribution of a diverse range of automotive exterior lighting systems. These will include headlights, turn signals, fog lights, and other essential components catering to the global automotive market.
UTAS-NOVA already boasts over 150,000 square meters of manufacturing space in China and has a presence in China and the United States. This new plant in Aguascalientes signifies the company's expansion into Mexico.
