On April 15, 2024, Honda marked a milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony of its new state-of-the-art spare parts warehouse in Doddaballapura, Bengaluru, Karnataka. This initiative is overseen by Honda Cars India and aims to bolster spare parts operations across its business divisions, including Honda Cars India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, and Honda India Power Products.

Strategic Location and Facility Details

The upcoming facility, located strategically near the Bengaluru International Airport and close to the city center, covers a total plot area of 140,000 square meters. In its first phase, the facility will develop 60,000 square meters, with 25,000 square meters dedicated to covered space. This location not only facilitates easy access and distribution but also places the facility near Honda's 2Wheelers manufacturing plant in Narsapura.

Enhancing Service and Efficiency

Mr. Takuya Tsumura, President & CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd., expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting its alignment with Honda’s commitment to enhancing customer service by ensuring the timely availability of spare parts. The facility is set to be operational by Q1 of FY 25-26 and will significantly improve the spare parts availability at Honda dealerships, enhancing the overall customer service experience.

Focus on Sustainability and Innovation

In line with modern sustainable practices, the facility will incorporate several green initiatives such as Rainwater Harvesting, a Drinking Water Treatment Plant, and the use of natural lighting and green electricity sources. Its design will emphasize ergonomic excellence, maximizing efficiency and productivity while adhering to the highest safety standards.

Strengthening Nationwide Infrastructure

This new facility in Doddaballapura will complement Honda’s existing spare parts centers across India, further strengthening its nationwide support infrastructure. Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Company (SMCC) is developing this facility to ensure a blend of local insights and global expertise in its construction.

This expansion not only underscores Honda's dedication to its Indian customers but also prepares the company for future needs in an era of increasing vehicle electrification.
