Asian electronics manufacturer Etron Technology, headquartered in Taiwan, has leased 3,600 sq m of production space at CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal, according to the announcement made by European real estate developer CTP. This move signifies Etron's plan to establish a high-tech production facility in Europe and expand its global footprint.

Etron, already present in China, Vietnam, Mexico, and Singapore, is choosing Romania to tap into new business opportunities within the European Union. The company is responding to a growing trend of multinationals wanting to "nearshore" production for European markets.

Etron's new Romanian facility will focus on surface mount technology and mechanical inspection production lines with testing and assembly capabilities. Romania's improving infrastructure, skilled workforce, and favorable tax rates are all factors that make it an attractive production hub, according to CTP.
