Leading energy and marine consultancy firm ABL has announced the launch of its Romanian operations to further solidify its presence in the Black Sea region. The new office, strategically located in Constanta, Romania, will provide comprehensive technical services to support the country's burgeoning offshore energy and maritime markets.

Expanding Expertise in the Black Sea

ABL Romania, headed by Alexander Shterev (Principal Surveyor, ABL Bulgaria) and supported by Lyubomir Djambazov (Country Manager, ABL Bulgaria), will offer a wide range of services, including:

  • Offshore Technical Expertise: Technical due diligence, rig inspections and moving, marine inspections and surveys.
  • Ensuring Safe Operations: Marine warranty surveys for projects across the energy spectrum.
  • Renewable Energy Support: Consultancy services to navigate the growing renewable energy sector.
  • Maritime Services: Port consulting and other maritime solutions.
  • Energy Transition Focus: Engineering expertise in carbon capture technology (CCS) and other solutions for a net-zero future.

Commitment to Romania's Energy Landscape

"Launching ABL Romania strengthens our dedication to safe and sustainable energy development in the Black Sea," said Ian Cummins, Regional Managing Director for ABL Europe and West Africa. He highlighted ABL's contribution to Romania's first offshore oil & gas project in decades (Midia Gas Development Project). He emphasized their commitment to supporting existing infrastructure and the country's transition to clean energy.

ABL recognizes Romania's vast potential for renewable energy development, particularly with wind, solar, carbon capture (CCUS), and hydrogen technologies on the horizon.
